Teaching Scrapbooking Classes in March 2010

March 2010 will be a fun filled one for me! I again have two scrapbooking classes that I'll be teaching at two different stores in the San Joaquin area.
Memories for the Making (MFTM), Lodi Ca is a great store where I'm going a little dimensional with the next class! Here is a sample of two of the layouts from this class -- I call the class Shabby Chic with Scraps!

I'm very excited to teach this class because Shabby Chic is a new area for so many people! I really think that everyone will love the fact that they are going to be learning techniques they can use on all kinds of future pages!

My Scraplifting 101 class at My Scrapbook Dreams (MSD), Stockton Ca is going to have some fun layouts for the month of March. Here is a sample of one of the pages that will be part of the class!
This class is going to be another great class filled with tips and fun! And not to mention of course the attendees leave with the pages they created!

Cards for Soldiers

Whew! We made over 25 cards for soldiers in my Stockton/Lodi Scrapbooking Meetup Group this last weekend! It was great! Got to try new techniques and some fun cards came out of it. Here are the ones that I did:

Easter Wishes:
This card is super simple and guaranteed to make people go "Aaaahhh!" when they see this super cute chic/bird made from a button!
Products:
  • Cardstock: white, pink, and grass green
  • 2 mini brads - yellow
  • 1 small button - yellow
  • Zig Calligraphy Pen - Black
  • Basic Grey Micro Chip Stickers - White Chocolate Chip
Butterflies and Best Wishes:

Products:
  • Cardstock: white and pink
  • Martha Stewart ribbon - Best Wishes
  • Martha Stewart Butterfly punches
  • Decretive mini scallop scissors
  • Zig Calligraphy Pen - Black
  • DCWV Mariposa paper
  • 5 Robin's Nest Pebbles - Cowboy
Bug/Thinking of you:
This cute little bug is super easy to make from a circle punched out and cut in half to create the two wings. I layered a second set of wings under to give it a more 3D look.
Products:
  • Cardstock: mat blue, white, and pink
  • EK Success 1 1/2 in circle punch
  • 8 mini brads - red
  • Lace ribbon - white
  • Pink Pebbles Duplicate Rob-ons - "Thinking of you" white
  • Zig Calligraphy Pen - black
  • Signo Pen - white
Leaves/Thinking of you:
This card was a bit of an experiment that I think turned out fine! Basically the front of the card is cut (in this case in the shape of a branch/leaves) to reveal the inside of the card - in this case the white interior.

Products:
  • Pre-made orange/white card - unknown manufacturer
  • Reminisce - Unwritten collection, Paper Strips (butterfly strip)
  • Pink Pebbles Duplicate Rob-ons - "Thinking of you" white
  • Signo Pen - white
Inside - Thinking of you/Butterfly:

  • Doodle Bug Designs, Inc. - Swimming Pool Crushed Velvet Cardstock
  • Zig Calligraphy Pen - Black
  • Martha Stewart Butterfly punch
  • EK Success 1 1/2 in circle punch
  • Cat's Eye ink - teal
  • Reminisce - Unwritten collection, Paper Strips (butterfly strip used as a mask)
  • Pink Pebbles Duplicate Rob-ons - "Thinking of you" white
Outside - Thinking of you/Butterfly:

Butterflies - Thank You:

I dry embossed and sanded the pink cardstock, overlaid the DCWV paper then added the popped-up butterfly to add a little dimension. I topped the card off with the green ribbon in a cute bow!

Products:
  • Cardstock: white and pink
  • Cuttle Bug embossing folder - flourishes
  • Sanding block
  • DCWV Mariposa paper
  • Small ribbon - green
  • Thank you rub-on, unknown manufacturer
